Courtroom Ruling in Favor of Max Sound Highlights Effectiveness of an Experienced Patent Attorney
Adli Law successfully defends their client to prevent 20 million dollars in losses.
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In the business world, copyright protection can be the difference between healthy profits and huge losses. Though cases involving mega corporations like Samsung and Apple tend to dominate the news cycle, ordinary, everyday companies also regularly face challenges when it comes to patent law; companies like the Max Sound Corporation which found itself facing a 20 million dollar lawsuit based on disputed audio technology. After a prolonged legal battle stemming back to 2012, the San Diego County Superior Court has ruled in favor of Max Sound this week, allowing the company to continue their tradition of innovation. Because copyright litigation in Los Angeles is such an important issue, Max Sound wisely utilized the expertise of Adi Law Group, PC, a top patent law firm that was able to provide them with the representation they needed to come out on top.
The dispute facing Max Sound began in 2012 with a complaint filed by Robert Steele, former CEO of the dissolved company Acoustic Control Sciences, LLC. Steele alleged that the revolutionary sound improvement technology owned by Max Sound was based on technology he had been involved in while working on designs pioneered by audio engineer Lloyd Trammell at Acoustic Control Sciences. Steele left Acoustic Control Sciences after a dispute, and Trammell would go on to co-found Audio Genesis Group in 2010 to further the development of his designs. Within weeks, Max Sound purchased all of Trammell's assets.
Steele sought 20 million dollars in punitive damages, as well as a share of the Max Sound corporation, based on his claims of infringement; claims that were ultimately dismissed entirely by the San Diego County Superior Court. According to the judge presiding over the case, "Plaintiff [Steele] had the burden to establish the products were elated by a preponderance of the evidence. Plaintiff did not meet his burden."
As the representation for Max Sound, Adli Law was very pleased to provide their client with result they needed. "This lawsuit should never have been brought, as the legal and factual basis of Steele's complain were wholly inadequate to support the charges he was making," stated Dr. Dariush Adli, president and founder of Adli Law Group. Max Sound CTO Lloyd Trammell also expressed his enthusiasm with the ruling and expressed his anxiousness to continue, "Providing ground-breaking technologies to the world."
