Daryl Fox Named Senior Vice President Publisher and Content Strategy; Bryan Spaulding Appointed Senior Vice President Technology and Business Operations

Daryl Fox has been appointed Senior Vice President of Publisher and Content Strategy and Bryan Spaulding has been named Senior Vice President of Technology and Business Operations.

As Senior Vice President of Publisher and Content Strategy, Daryl will be responsible for aligning CourseSmart's strategy with those of its publisher partners to ensure that the company creates the best content discovery, access and consumption experience for students, faculty and educational institutions. Daryl has spent the past 25 years in higher education publishing, and has held VP-level positions in Science, Economics, Finance, and the Social Sciences for more than 15 years. Most recently, he was Vice President and Editorial Director for Political Science, Communication, Theatre, Film and Public Relations at Pearson Education where he spearheaded many innovative digital media products including HTML5-based, experiential and speech-related products. Daryl has also held similar management positions at McGraw-Hill and at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich.
Bryan Spaulding joins CourseSmart with nearly 20 years of experience building scalable architecture for digital initiatives. While at CourseSmart, he will be responsible for setting the overall technical direction for the company, including leading all architectural planning and technical operations, managing relationships with technology partners, and engaging with partners and CourseSmart customers to ensure the seamless integration with third party platforms. Prior to CourseSmart, Bryan served as the Senior Director of Media and Publishing at Optaros where he built digital asset management workflow solutions and re-platformed content and commerce properties for a variety of clients. He also served as the Chief Technology Officer at MovieLink where he led and developed, amongst other things, the company's digital rights management approach so that it worked for all stakeholders. Additionally, Bryan has held management positions at Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment and at the Viant Corporation.
