REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Course Hero, an online learning platform where members can access over 20 million course-specific study resources contributed by a community of students and educators, today announced the appointment of Preetham Vishwanatha as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In the past 20 years, Vishwanatha has built large-scale machine intelligence platforms for evidence-driven decision-making in ad tech, commerce exchanges, retail demand chain solutions, and cloud-based analytics domains. He brings distinguished expertise in stochastic optimization for large-scale systems, vision computing, and computational linguistics. He is a published author and accomplished speaker.

Vishwanatha, who joins Course Hero from global mobile advertising and marketing platform InMobi, assumes full responsibility for building Course Hero's machine learning and artificial intelligence capability, including engineering, platforms, and research to enable semantic and narrative intelligence around educational content and learning experiences for students.

Under Vishwanatha, the team will build and operationalize a semantic knowledge graph that will enable AI to autonomously tailor bespoke learning experiences personalized to individual student needs, learning styles, and skills. The team will also create similar graph intelligence to help educators formulate unique content.
