REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 22, a select group of nurse educators will convene for a day of talks, workshops, and hands-on learning at the Bay Area headquarters of Course Hero, an online learning platform curating over 25 million course-specific study resources.
"We believe knowledge and resource sharing between those who teach the same or similar courses can help create better learning outcomes," said Andrew Grauer, cofounder and CEO of Course Hero. "Bringing these incredible educators together for a day of collaboration, sharing, and active learning is a clear next step in Course Hero's efforts to support the great teaching happening in classrooms around the country. We hope that the nurse educators attending will walk away with new ways to bring their subjects to life and an expanded library of teaching resources to access on Course Hero to aid in their course design and execution."
As an extension of Course Hero's annual cross-discipline Educator Summit held each summer, the Nurse Educator Summit is a full-day event that brings together educators from around the country to learn from each other and share experiences, resources, pedagogies, and teaching approaches. This Summit focuses specifically on the principles of active learning in nurse education and is designed to help attendees uncover and implement innovative active learning approaches to instruction, both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to attending a variety of interactive workshops, attendees will receive a "flipped-learning toolkit," resources to create a high-quality instructional video on site, access to the Course Hero library of teaching and learning resources, and complimentary meals and transportation.
"The field of nursing is richly represented on Course Hero's platform," said Alex Witkowski, Course Hero Educator Community Manager. "Over the last few months, I have been extremely fortunate to get to know the inspiring educators attending this event. They are passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for students, and I'm excited to bring them together so they can share their best practices and bring diverse perspectives back to their respective campuses."
