Count Down to Christmas With New Animated Advent Calendar From Jacquielawson.com
LURGASHALL, England, Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Think back to childhood memories of Christmas. Remember the excitement of opening each window on an Advent Calendar, and the knowledge that each day brought you one step closer to Christmas? This year, that comforting tradition has been made even better with the introduction of a new animated Advent Calendar by the English e-card company, jacquielawson.com.
The calendar runs as a Windows desktop widget, compatible with both PC and Mac, and is easy to download and install. Once installed, the calendar appears as an animated snow globe on the desktop. When activated it displays an exquisite old-world village scene, with a wonderfully nostalgic feel.
There are, appropriately, 25 different animations that represent a different scene occurring in the village. In addition to the wonderful visuals that jacquielawson.com fans appreciate, each day also features music arranged and recorded specifically to suit that particular scene.
"The Advent Calendar has long been a popular tradition during the holiday season, and the new digital version from jacquielawson.com adds a whole new dimension to the enjoyment it can bring," said Mike Hughes-Chamberlain, Jacquie's nephew and co-founder of jacquielawson.com. "Jacquielawson.com fans are always looking for new ways to celebrate old traditions with the artistic quality and attention to detail for which the site is known, and we are really thrilled to be able to introduce this innovative twist on a true classic."
The Advent Calendar is available for $3.00 (with discounts for multiple purchases) from www.jacquielawson.com/advent. A yearly subscription is just $12.00 and members receive unlimited access to a collection of over 150 beautiful e-cards, perfect for every occasion.
So who is Jacquie Lawson?
Jacquie originally trained as an illustrator at St. Martin's School of Art, and has over twenty years' experience in many areas of drawing, painting and design, including architectural perspectives, book illustration, and cartoons.
She began working on e-cards, and introduced her first offering, in 2000 with "Christmas Cottage." By 2001, her greetings were so popular that she teamed with Mike Hughes-Chamberlain to meet the growing demand by creating the jacquielawson.com website. Over the years additional artists have joined Jacquie's team, and the collection of e-cards has grown to its current total of over 150 e-cards, each one showing a degree of artistry and attention to detail rarely seen in this medium.
