Counseling Services Available To Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Arizona Members Impacted By NAU Incident
Free support line for individuals needing help dealing with the campus shooting
PHOENIX, Oct. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After learning about the NAU campus event, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) opened a free support line for members to speak with a mental health professional. Now through Wednesday, October 14, impacted members may call 800-224-2125. The line is open 24 hours a day and members can either talk with a crisis counselor or make in-person appointments.
"To say this tragedy happened in Flagstaff is to say this happened in our backyard. Many of us have friends who live or do business there or have children attending NAU. This is a time to come together and support Arizonans who may need help dealing with this situation," said Rich Boals, CEO and president.
Because a local shooting often can have a wide reaching impact on the community, BCBSAZ is making this free and confidential service available to any of its members who have been affected. The service is part of BCBSAZ's behavioral health program offered through Biodyne.
