Summit Shows Strong Commitment to Enhancing Global Innovation and Strengthening Middle Eastern Partnerships
WASHINGTON, April 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Deborah L. Wince-Smith, President & CEO of the Council on Competitiveness, commended the Obama Administration's Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship.
Specifically, Wince-Smith emphasized the importance of economic development in strengthening relations between the U.S. and the Muslim world.
"Entrepreneurship and innovation are not only basic American values, they are the most effective tools to unlock economic opportunity for people all over the world," said Wince-Smith. "The President's commitment to meet the challenges of the changing global economic landscape will undoubtedly help stimulate economic growth and foster innovation in both America and the Muslim world."
The U.S. Council actively collaborates with the Competitiveness Councils from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE through the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils, a network of private/public organizations committed to sharing best practices and a better understanding of the drivers of national prosperity in a global economy.
"An underpinning of the U.S. Council's founding of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils is, in simple terms, job creation," said Wince-Smith. "When countries, regions and cultures share best practices and methods in economic development, new relationships are formed, and current relationships are strengthened."
