Cotton Patch Cafe Marches To $1 Million For Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children
Homestyle Southern restaurant's annual fundraising campaign surpasses 10-year goal
DALLAS, May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cotton Patch Cafe raised more than $225,000 in its 2016 Cotton Patch Challenge benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, taking the 10-year campaign over its $1 million donation goal.
For the past 10 years, Cotton Patch has held its fundraising drive that encourages guests to donate by matching every $25 given to the hospital with a free $25 Cotton Patch gift card, up to $1,000 per customer. Cards can be used at any of the company's 45 Southern-style eateries in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
All contributions directly benefit children treated at Scottish Rite Hospital, one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions and related neurological disorders. Established in 1921, the hospital provides treatment regardless of the family's ability to pay.
"The money raised by the Cotton Patch Cafe Challenge is such a tremendous gift to the children we treat, and in such a short period of time – over $1 million in 10 years!" said Stephanie Brigger, vice president of development at Scottish Rite Hospital. "Beyond the funds that allow us to provide exceptional care to our patients, the challenge also has increased awareness of our work throughout the community."
The 2016 challenge, from Feb. 29-April 30, included Cotton Patch Cafe's March to a Million campaign to pass the $1 million mark. Cotton Patch raised $225,250 this year for a total contribution of $1,090,132 in 10 years.
"Cotton Patch Cafe's culture is to give, and our partnership with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and its wonderful mission is especially near and dear to our hearts," said Kathy Nelson, CEO of Cotton Patch Cafe. "We thank our guests for their generosity and our restaurant teams for their drive and enthusiasm in helping us reach the million-dollar goal."
