Cotton Patch Cafe Launches 12th Annual Challenge Benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children
Southern homestyle restaurant will match up to $100,000 for donations made in April
DALLAS, March 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Cotton Patch Cafe kicks off its 12th annual Cotton Patch Challenge benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children on April 2 and will match every $25 guest donation to the hospital, up to $100,000, with a $25 dining gift card through April 30.
The challenge has helped raise more than $1 million over the past 11 years. The program is simple – each person who donates to Scottish Rite Hospital in April through https://community.tsrhc.org/cottonpatchchallenge or at www.cottonpatch.com will receive up to $1,000 in dining cards to match their donation. The cards can be used at any of Cotton Patch Cafe's 50+ locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico.
All funds raised go directly to benefit kids like 15-year-old Alfonso of Bedford, Texas, who has been coming to see the experts at Scottish Rite Hospital since he was 5 years old. Alfonso dreams of one day becoming an English teacher, and his prosthetist Kara Davis describes him as a very fun-loving, active kid with an infectiously adventurous spirit. For the past two years, Alfonso has traveled to Winter Park, Colorado, with 13 other Scottish Rite amputee patients who have forged new friendships, grown long-term friendships and learned to ski in the Rocky Mountains.
"Kids like Alfonso inspire everyone who supports our mission to provide world-class care to children with orthopedic and neurological disorders, injuries or disabilities without regard for their family's ability to pay," said Stephanie Brigger, vice president of development at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. "Cotton Patch Cafe has been a dedicated supporter over the years, raising money and awareness, and we cannot thank them enough for their ongoing commitment."
"Our annual challenge has become more popular every year as more and more of our guests learn about the great work that Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is doing – and in fact, last year, they were so eager to donate that we met our goal in under a week," said Cotton Patch Cafe President Larry Ryback. "We encourage our guests to join us again in donating throughout April to help make a difference in the lives of these children and their families."
The hospital's cafeteria in Dallas will support the challenge and serve up a taste of Cotton Patch Cafe by selling the restaurant's famous Dr Pepper Cake on April 2.
