Motherson-Ossia Joint Venture Competes for Automotive Innovation Award with Cota Wireless Power
BELLEVUE, Wash., Dec. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ossia, Inc. announced that its joint venture with Motherson Innovations, MothersonOssia, successfully presented at the Global Automotive Mobility Innovation Challenge (GAMIC) regional quarterfinals competition on December 11 and was selected to move on to the semifinals in February 2019.
The joint venture presented Cota Real Wireless Power technology for use in a wide range of vehicles, including passenger, commercial and public transportation. Cota is wireless power delivered over a distance, while in motion, without the need for charging pads, cables, or line of sight.
The 11th GAMIC, sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International and MI Innovation Alliance, offers innovators speed to market; they put the competition winners in front of decision makers in large automotive organizations who have a need and a budget to explore innovative products and solutions, like wireless power.
"GAMIC is a unique competition," said Marc Rosenmayr, Interim CEO of MothersonOssia. "We were proud to see our JV present and demonstrate Cota at the quarterfinals in Detroit, and we're even more excited for the semifinals. This is an excellent opportunity to accelerate the adoption of wireless power for the entire automotive industry."
The competition is judged by automotive executives from OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers as well as seasoned contributors from the entrepreneurial community. The GAMIC semifinals will include presentations by 19 semifinalists, including MothersonOssia. It's an all-day event with highly-regarded guest speakers from the automotive industry.
