Corps of Engineers to Open Recovery Act-Funded Veterans Curation Program Laboratory in Washington, D.C. on March 31
WASHINGTON, March 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers:
EVENT: Official opening of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Veterans Curation Program laboratory in Washington, D.C.
PURPOSE: The Veteran's Curation Program is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. It provides vocational rehabilitation and innovative training for veterans and returning wounded veterans using archaeological collections administered by the Corps. Veterans are trained and employed using a range of computer programs, electronic document scanning and digital imaging technologies. This is the third laboratory to open following the earlier openings of facilities in Augusta, Ga., and St. Louis, Mo.
WHO: The Honorable Jo-Ellen Darcy, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, will present remarks.
