WASHINGTON, Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "We know healthcare companies or even insurance companies are currently gobbling up medical practice groups all over the country. Frequently the physicians in the practice group will take the best possible deal. Some of these 'best deals' include special incentive packages involving real estate leases or the purchase of medical equipment.
"If the caveat is the healthcare company wants the medical practice group to increase their patient's admissions to a specific hospital it could be a violation of the Stark Anti-Kickback Laws, and this kind of information could produce a significant whistleblower reward. If you are a medical doctor and you possess this type of information please call us anytime at 866-714-6466. We are pretty sure this a huge problem nationwide and in every state." http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
In September 2017, the Department of Justice announced two New York State based hospitals agreed to pay $4 million to settle allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by engaging in improper financial relationships with referring physicians. The settlement resolves allegations that the hospitals submitted false claims to the Medicare program for services rendered to patients referred by physicians with whom the defendants had improper financial relationships. These relationships took the form of compensation and office lease arrangements that did not comply with the requirements of the Stark Law, which restricts the financial relationships that hospitals may have with doctors who refer patients to them. In this instance, the whistleblower will receive $600,000.
According to the Corporate Whistleblower Center, "If you are a medical doctor, a medical practice group manager or a hospital executive and you have specific knowledge of about a serious Stark Law violation or violations please call us at 866-714-6466 and let's explore the whistleblower reward possibilities. Why sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it might be worth?" http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
The Corporate Whistleblower Center is also very interested in hearing from a physician if they have proof the following types of healthcare companies have financial relationships that violate the Stark Anti-Kickback Laws:
- Blood Testing Company
- A Rehab Center
- A Skilled Nursing Facility
- A Radiology Group
- A Cardiology Group
- A Pharmaceutical Company
- A Medical Device Company
Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a major whistleblower. The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It's a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower's information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company or individual to come clean stark on anti-kickback laws or overbilling Medicare. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it's sufficient, we will help find the right law firms to assist in advancing your information."
The Corporate Whistleblower Center wants to emphasize there are high quality whistleblowers in every state, including California, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, or Alaska. They are especially interested in hearing from medical doctors, medical practice managers or nurses who have information about kickback involving a medical doctor and any type of healthcare provider or company. http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
