WASHINGTON, July 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "We are urging a medical doctor, healthcare manager or pharmaceutical/medical device company sales representative to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 about possible significant rewards if they can prove a healthcare company has been or is intentionally up-coding Medicare bills or fraudulently billing to the highest possible Medicare reimbursement rates, as opposed to billing at the correct levels based on the actual service that was provided. This kind of information can potentially be worth millions of dollars to a whistleblower, as we would like to discuss. In a recent example, a whistleblower who was in medical sales recently received $2.4 million dollars for his information about this exact type of wrongdoing." http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
As an example of what the Center is discussing in June 2017, two cardiac monitoring companies agreed to resolve Department of Justice allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by billing Medicare for higher and more expensive levels of cardiac monitoring services than requested by the ordering physicians. The two companies agreed to pay $13,450,000 to resolve these allegations. Allegedly from 2011 through 2016 the companies marketed a Pocket ECG as capable of performing three separate types of cardiac monitoring services—holter, event, and telemetry.
When a physician sought to enroll a patient for Pocket ECG, however, the enrollment process allegedly only allowed the physician to enroll in Pocket ECG for the service which provided the highest rate of reimbursement provided by a patient's insurance, thus steering the ordering physician to a more-costly level of service.
According to the Corporate Whistleblower Center, "We are urging a medical doctor, a healthcare manager or a medical device/pharmaceutical salesperson in any state to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if they have the specifics about a corporation intentionally overbilling Medicare for services never rendered or at the highest reimbursement codes as opposed to the correct codes for services rendered. This type of information can produce dramatic whistleblower rewards as we would like to discuss. Why sit on a winning lotto ticket without discovering what it might have been worth?" http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a major whistleblower. The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It's a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower's information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company or individual to come clean on Medicare overbilling or Stark anti-kickback laws. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it's sufficient, we will help find the right law firms to assist in advancing your information. Our number one goal is to make certain a whistleblower who can prove multi-million-dollar Medicare fraud receives the best possible financial compensation." http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
