Corporate Recycling & Waste Conference unveils speakers for September event
DETROIT, Aug. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Corporate Recycling & Waste Conference (CRWC) is pleased to announce its lineup of distinguished speakers for the second annual event to be held Sept. 10-12 in Orlando, Fla., at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.
Todd Fitzgerald, director of corporate sustainability, Costco Wholesale; Joseph Stearns Jr., senior environmental compliance specialist, FedEx Ground; and Alex Sorondo, corporate director of environmental affairs, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, highlight a list of more than 12 environmental management professionals who will share their expertise with attendees of the CRWC.
"We have developed a comprehensive agenda that will allow presenters to share waste and recycling program best practices with proven results," said Lang Herndon, conference chairman and vice president of national accounts at Republic Services Inc. "With session topics such as single stream recycling, organics, and waste audits, the CRWC is a platform to allow attendees to gain valuable insight from peers and industry experts to create durable programs for companies seeking a healthy balance between environmentally responsibility and fiscally sound."
Jeff Littlejohn, the state of Florida's deputy secretary for regulatory programs, will deliver the keynote address.
The complete list of speakers is available at wasterecyclingnews.com/corporate-recycling-waste-conference.
The Corporate Recycling & Waste Conference is organized for environmental executives at Fortune 1000 firms as well as waste haulers and recycling officials. Waste & Recycling News and Republic Services co-organize the Corporate Recycling & Waste Conference.
"Corporate sustainability officials can't operate in a vacuum," said Brennan Lafferty, publisher of Waste & Recycling News. "They need to know what their peers are doing today. That's why the CRWC is so helpful. We saw it at last year's event when sustainability leaders from automakers sat down with beverage makers and airlines. There are profits in waste and recycling if done right. These conversations don't happen anywhere else."
General Motors Corp., Otto Environmental Systems North America Inc. and A Greener Solution are the lead sponsors of the CRWC. The trio joins more than 40 companies exhibiting their products and services to attendees.
This year, the CRWC includes a tour of a recycling facility, continuing education courses administered by Penn State University, two days of presentations, two evening networking receptions and an exhibit floor featuring the country's largest waste and recycling service providers as well as leading manufacturers in the field.
