Corporate Leaders and Policy-Makers Focus on Changing US Fuel Market
HOUSTON, Aug. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 300 government policy-makers and executives from the energy and refining industries are expected to attend Hart Energy's annual one-day event, "Future of Transportation Fuels in the US: How Do We Optimize Over the Next 25-30 Years?" This year's conference is set for September 21 at the historic Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.
As in the past, the conference recognizes technology accomplishments toward clean energy and environmental progress. Cooperative standards-setting programs between government and industry, such as fleet mileage requirements and fuel quality regulations, form the basis for individual presentations and panel discussions. After the conference, Hart Energy's annual "Energy and Environmental Excellence" awards will be presented at a gala dinner. This year's honorees will be Thomas O'Malley, chairman of PBF Energy Partners, and Valero Energy Corporation.
As President and CEO at Tosco, O'Malley was the first refiner (in 1998) to support EPA's low sulfur gasoline rule. O'Malley will deliver the keynote remarks at the dinner. William Klesse, chairman of Valero, will accept the award on behalf of his organization. A Fortune 50 company based in San Antonio, Texas, Valero is the world's largest independent petroleum refiner and marketer, with 15 refineries and 10 ethanol plants in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and the Caribbean.
The dinner is included with conference registration. The evening affair celebrates industry and government collaboration and energy and environmental progress. Registered delegates should confirm their dinner attendance with Heather Motschman via phone (+1.713.260.6446) or email.
