Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Presents First Pharmacokinetics Study on Cannabinoids for Dogs
ElleVet Sciences Produces the first science-backed Cannabinoid supplement for dogs.
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Associate Professor Joseph Wakshlag of Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine will present tomorrow the findings of the first pharmacokinetic study and clinical trial on the use of cannabinoids to treat dogs with osteoarthritis and multi joint pain at the Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX). Cornell partnered with ElleVet Sciences to conduct this double blind, placebo-controlled study. A key element of the study was to accurately understand how the product is metabolized and, importantly, to identify accuracy and frequency of dosing.
While hemp-based supplements for dogs are becoming a popular alternative to pharmaceutical treatments, no other product on the market that we have found has invested in the pharmacokinetic research. ElleVet Sciences, in partnership with Cornell University, is the first hemp-based supplement brand to scientifically test the use of hemp-based products for dogs. ElleVet Sciences is also currently conducting a pharmacokinetic study on cats and ElleVet Feline is expected to launch early Spring 2018 and has additional studies planned, also in partnership with Cornell.
The Cornell study found that dogs who took ElleVet's proprietary hemp oil blend showed significant improvement over dogs that received the placebo. The study determined that ElleVet's hemp oil blend is "efficacious for pain in dogs with osteoarthritis, chronic joint pain and geriatric pain and soreness; with dramatic beneficial effects in our more geriatric patients." Over 80% of dogs who have used ElleVet Mobility soft chews have seen a significant or dramatic improvement. Veterinarians have called ElleVet soft chews, "A game changer that will change the face of veterinary medicine."
Alongside ElleVet's scientific backing, anecdotal evidence from pet owners and animal clinics across the country have shown ElleVet to greatly improve pain levels and quality of life for dogs with osteoarthritis and joint pain. ElleVet Mobility soft chews can only be purchased through their website or through your local veterinarian.
The VMX conference, formerly the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) conference, is the largest gathering of veterinary professionals in the United States. ElleVet Sciences will be attending the conference all weekend from February 3rd-8th. The findings of the Cornell backed study will be presented Saturday February 3rd at 9am in room S210C. ElleVet Sciences will be at Booth 2842 from Feb 3-7.
