Core Systems' Facility Now Offers Increased Environmental and Vibration Testing, Expanding Onsite Capabilities
POWAY, Calif., Sept. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Core Systems Incorporated, a leading global provider of rugged computer solutions, announced their expansion of onsite capabilities to include a new test facility, added to meet several MIL-SPEC requirements including vibration, humidity, and temperature. The test facility includes an Unholtz-Dickie T Series and a Thermatron Electrodynamic Shaker for increased environmental and vibration testing. Vibration from Electrodynamic Shakers provides a testing platform for transportation simulation, mechanical shock, mission profile, and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS). With dynamic factors such as displacement, velocity, acceleration, and force, vibration from Electrodynamic Shakers accurately simulates a wide range of conditions that can help improve product quality and reliability. Both will operate from a VR9500 Vibration Controller, which efficiently runs vibration tests at low and high sample rates with up to 26,000 lines of resolution for random testing – an industry maximum. By year end, Core Systems will be adding a dust chamber to the test facility, as well as other equipment that tests altitude, salt, and fog.

President of Core Systems, Chris Schaffner, stated, "The testing equipment is a great addition to the product test resources within Core Systems. It will allow us to better service the Military, Aerospace, and Oil and Gas Industries, who heavily rely on these testing procedures. Now that we have MIL- SPEC testing in-house, we can further help reduce the time it takes for our customers to bring products to the market."
This new test facility complements the existing state-of-the-art fabrication facility and machine shop. Core's vision for growth led them on a path of complete transformation and modernization, expanding their facility footprint by 15,000 square feet. The fabrication facility is complete with an Amada EMK Turret Press, Amada Press Brakes, HAAS CNC Mills, a welding center, and a fully functional powder coat paint booth and oven. Core Systems' metal fabrication allows the company to cut any geometric shape to the most demanding specifications using a variety of material types involving sheet metal, structural steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
"This expansion of capabilities allows us to increase capacity, reduce product lead time, lower costs, and better manage quality control. This differentiates us from our competition. We can provide machining services ranging from one offs and prototypes to production, utilizing state-of-the-art CNC machinery," stated Chris Schaffner, President of Core Systems.
