Corbis Appoints Former Reuters Leader as Senior Vice President of Media Products
Barak Ronen to Join the Corbis Senior Management Team to Lead Media Strategy and Products
SEATTLE, Oct. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Corbis Images (www.corbisimages.com), a leading visual media provider for the creative community, today named Barak Ronen as Senior Vice President of Media Products. As SVP of Media Products, Ronen will be based in London and responsible for the company's Media product development and commercial strategy.

Most recently, Ronen served as Vice President of Business Development and Commercial Policy at Reuters, a global news agency headquartered in London, and owned by Thomson Reuters. In this role, Ronen was responsible for leading customer-focused growth strategies and creating strategic content and service partnerships for the agency.

Ronen's appointment follows Corbis' recent key moves to transform its Media Products business, including:
- The acquisition of Splash News, the industry leader in celebrity candid content, to complement Corbis' existing entertainment imagery and provide the most compelling and comprehensive entertainment offering in the market today
- A cross-distribution partnership with The Associated Press, to provide Corbis customers access to thousands of daily breaking news, sports, and entertainment images and 5 million archival images from AP's collection. Associated Press customers will have access to a collection of over 5 million Corbis commercial, archival and editorial images on www.ap.org.
- An equity investment in Demotix, providing breaking news imagery from around the globe, via the Corbis website, through its innovative platform and network of over 5,000 freelance photographers in 190 countries
