"As the Artistic Director of the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Concert Series, I have been honored to present some of the best musicians in the world to the Fort Lauderdale community," said Chelsea Chen. "Mr. Lee is a distinguished cellist who has performed with many illustrious conductors. I am honored to join him in this concert performance."
Ms. Chen has received acclaim as a composer. Past performances have lauded Ms. Chen's "rare musicality" and "lovely lyrical grandeur," and she is described as having a compositional style that is "charming" and "irresistible" (Los Angeles Times). In 2014, she became Organist and Artist-in-Residence at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and splits her time between Florida and New York, where she is Artist-in-Residence at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Manhattan.
A musical sensation in his own right, Mr. Lee first began studying piano at the age of 4, violin at 7, and cello at the age of 11. He won the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra concerto competition, which resulted in his concerto debut, playing the Dvorak Cello Concerto in Davies Symphony Hall under conductor Edwin Outwater. Mr. Lee was a member of the New World Symphony from 2010 until 2012, when he won his position with the New York City Ballet Orchestra.
