DALLAS, Dec. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ: COYN) announced today that the Child Safety Network (CSN) will be recommending COPsync to meet school transportation personnel safety protocols recommended by CSN and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). COPsync solutions include the COPsync911™ threat-alert system to safeguard schools and keep America's children safer. COPsync joins CSN in applauding the enormously challenging work and tremendous responsibility of all participants in the school bus and school security industries.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Senate unanimously voted to approve Senate Resolution 557 supporting Child Safety Network's (CSN) efforts to increase the safety of the 26 million students that ride the approximately 500,000 school buses that carry America's most precious cargo – its children. The TSA, a department within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has security responsibility for the buses.
"CSN and TSA are working together to expand training for school bus operators, drivers, and other student transportation professionals. Beginning in 2017, CSN will collaborate with TSA with a mutual goal of 100% participation with the latest safety and security training available for the nearly 15,000 school districts nationwide," said Ward Eric Leber, Founder of CSN.
Eroca Daniel, Communication Director for CSN, stated "Not only will we continue our 27-year mission of making America's Schools and communities safer, we will be making schools aware of technology that speeds response times and provides shared data among law enforcement agencies called COPsync. It is our goal to help schools become 100% compliant with TSA/DHS security training and to save student and law enforcement officer's lives with COPsync911."
"The COPsync911 threat-alert system can save minutes when seconds count," stated Ronald A. Woessner, CEO of COPsync. "It can help protect the millions of American children that ride school buses. We are honored to be allied with the Child Safety Network and helping fulfill the mission of providing safer schools and safer communities."
Mr. Leber added, "During active shooter situations, school personnel can use Copsync911 to summon the five closest patrol vehicles while they give other information to 911 dispatch. Often the sound of a gunshot will trigger hundreds of nearly simultaneous calls to the already heavily burdened 911 systems. This not only slows down the process of getting help to the children under attack, but it also makes the dispatcher's job of finding the most actionable information very difficult. By connecting the school sites under attack instantly via the COPsync911 system, police response times are potentially much faster which could save the lives of countless children."
