CURITIBA, Brazil, March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Companhia Paranaense de Energia – COPEL (BM&FBOVESPA: CPLE3, CPLE5, CPLE6 /NYSE: ELP / LATIBEX: XCOP), a company that generates, transmits, distributes and sells power, announces its results for the year 2011.

Copel's consolidated balance sheet presents, in addition to the figures of its wholly owned subsidiaries (Copel Geracao e Transmissao, Copel Distribuicao and Copel Telecomunicacoes), those of Compagas, Elejor, UEG Araucaria, Centrais Eolicas do Parana, Costa Oeste Transmissora, Marumbi Transmissora, Transmissora Sul Brasileira, Cutia Empreendimentos Eolicos and Domino Holdings. The consolidated financial statements were prepared in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the accounting practices adopted in Brazil.

• Operating Income: R$ 1,584 million.
• Net Income: R$ 1,177 million.
• Earnings per Share: R$ 4.23.
• EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation And Amortization): R$ 1,857 million.
• Return on Shareholder's Equity: 10.5% in the period.
• Growth in Power distribution: 5.4% (captive market).
