ALLENTOWN, Pa., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Coordinated Health (CH), the region's leading acute-care and specialty surgical hospital network, today announced the appointment of veteran hospital and healthcare executive Linda Chen as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She is responsible for financial planning, supply chain and materials management for CH's hospitals, clinics, physician practices, rehabilitation and imaging centers across 17 locations.
Chen joins CH from Community Health Systems (CHS), one of the nation's largest publicly traded, for-profit hospital companies, where she served for four years, most recently as CFO of Easton Hospital. While at Easton Hospital, Chen dramatically improved many key hospital efficiency rates. She led the financial management for the overall hospital, its many multiple-specialty physician practices and a joint venture ambulatory surgery center.
"Linda brings a proven track record and perfect balance of leading and facilitating collaboration between the clinical and financial sides of the business," said Chief Executive Officer, Emil DiIorio, MD. "As both healthcare delivery and payment models continue to evolve, it was important for CH to hire a chief financial officer who had extensive experience in developing models and strategic ways of thinking."
Chen's deep healthcare leadership experience includes management posts at Universal Health Services and Vanguard Health Systems. She earned her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University; her MBA from St. John's University; and her Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from China Agricultural University.
"It's a great time to be joining Coordinated Health," said Chen. "I believe that it has he right model, team and vision to win in this new era of healthcare. I'm excited to be part of the team."
