Cooper Standard Promotes Wenzl to Senior Vice President
NOVI, Mich., Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading global automotive supplier Cooper Standard (NYSE: CPS) today announced the appointment of Sharon S. Wenzl to senior vice president, corporate communications and community affairs, an executive officer, in conjunction with her position on the Company's Global Leadership Team.

Wenzl is responsible for leading the corporate communications function, as well as planning and implementing strategic communications programs in support of the Company's overall vision. She also leads the Company's community affairs and oversees the Cooper Standard Foundation.
Prior to joining Cooper Standard in 2007, she held several executive positions in the automotive industry. Wenzl served as senior vice president, global human resources and communications for Tower Automotive and held various positions of increasing responsibility at Freudenberg-NOK, including vice president of human resources and communications, director of corporate relations, director of corporate communications, and manager of advertising and sales promotion.
In 2000, Wenzl was named as one of Automotive News' 100 Leading Women in the North American Automotive Industry and is past chair of the Council for Labor and Economic Growth for the State of Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Michigan State University in East Lansing and a Master of Arts degree in communications from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. She also has completed postgraduate work at Boston University.
