Cooper Standard Boosts Regional Capabilities, Establishes Asia Pacific Sealing Test and Prototype Centers in Shanghai
SHANGHAI, June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper Standard (NYSE: CPS) today announced the opening of its Asia Pacific Sealing Test and Sealing Prototype Centers in Shanghai. The opening of these latest facilities, along with the recent establishment of the Company's Asia Pacific Technology Center also located in Shanghai, demonstrates Cooper Standard's continued investment in the region as part of its commitment to create a full range of technical and manufacturing capabilities to serve local customers.

The Asia Pacific Sealing Test Center, which is located in Qingpu District, Shanghai, is 1,100-square-meters. It is Cooper Standard's largest, most diverse and capable sealing laboratory in the Asia Pacific region. The center houses an automotive sealing finish products and materials laboratory, and a functional test laboratory for sealing systems. The laboratory is the first sealing laboratory of its kind to be accredited ISO/IEC17025 in China.
The 1,140-square-meter Asia Pacific Sealing Prototype Center is equipped with a complete production line that can significantly shorten the lead time needed for extrusion process development. Cooper Standard will now be able to carry out a series of advanced product designs and development to support automotive growth of this region. In addition, the center features a state-of-the-art training center which is dedicated to cultivating local engineering capabilities.
