Cooper Lighting LED Innovation Center Earns NVLAP Accreditation
Continuing NVLAP accreditations awarded to Cooper Lighting's Photometric Laboratory includes complete LM-79 testing for solid-state lighting luminaires.
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), announces today that its Photometric Laboratory, part of its LED Innovation Center, has received continuing National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accreditation (NVLAP Lab Code 200050-0) for solid-state lighting (SSL) test methods in Energy Efficient Lighting Products. NVLAP is administered by the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) and provides an unbiased third-party evaluation to testing and calibration laboratories. As the LED marketplace rapidly expands, it becomes increasingly important for customers to obtain accurate photometric results quickly. Cooper Lighting's in-house NVLAP accredited lab gives customers the advantage of faster results with the highest reliability.

Notably, Cooper Lighting is listed with LM-79 accreditation under photometric measurements for Solid State Lighting Luminaires - Total Flux Measurements (Luminous Efficacy) and Solid State Lighting Luminaires - Luminous Intensity Measurements. In addition, Cooper is accredited for Solid State Lighting Luminaires – Color Characteristics Measurements. Cooper Lighting is one of the earliest luminaire manufacturers to achieve this complete SSL accreditation.
