It was announced on September 14, 2010 that star Chef Alain Dutournier will be the President of Honour of "Paris Cookbook Fair 2011", after author Claudia Roden last year. This event is the largest cookbook and wine book meeting in the world. Authors, publishers and foodies come from all continents.

The event in 2011 will start with the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, which reward the Best in the World. There are already 144 countries participating in this year's competition. This glamorous Awards event has taken place in the last 4 years at Beijing-Dragon Springs Hall, London-Olympia, Frankfurt-Opera House, and Paris- La Comedie Francaise.
In 2011, the Gourmand Awards will be at Le 104, the new Artistic Center of the City of Paris, a beautifully renovated building, where Paris Cookbook Fair will be located.
The Guest Country of the Book Fair will be Italy, the star food: Cheese, and the Key Topic : Street Food. The Fair will be open to the public over the weekend. Professionals will come the first two days. It will be fun, pleasure and networking for everyone.
The cookbook sector is seeing a double digit growth worldwide, led by Asia and Latin America. Wine books are in great demand by the many new wine consumers. So Paris will again be a feast, to honour those who cook and drink with words.
