ControlTec, Verizon Wireless Announce Partnership To Advance Real-Time Vehicle Data Collection
DEARBORN, Mich., July 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ControlTec, an industry leader in transportation diagnostic and safety data systems, and Verizon Wireless, a technology leader with the nation's largest and most reliable 4G LTE network, announced today a joint partnership that will allow state-of-the-art wireless vehicle data recorders designed by ControlTec to transmit real-time information on the Verizon Wireless network.
"The ability to take in real-time, raw data and to make it actionable in a quick and reliable way is critical as we work to provide product solutions to our customers," said David Ploucha, president of ControlTec, Inc. "In this demanding data-driven industry, the speed and reliability of Verizon's network gives us a competitive advantage by allowing us to make quick decisions for our customers in real-time."
"ControlTec is an exemplary case of a company using our superior network to drive and improve product development," said John Granby, president of Verizon Wireless for Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. "Our network is built to help businesses like ControlTec find new ways to succeed."
ControlTec recently received CDMA certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for its vehicle data recorders. The CDMA certification allows ControlTec to partner with Verizon Wireless by utilizing the wireless carrier's network for real-time data collection. The ControlTec Qualifier® product uses wireless vehicle data recorders to acquire reliable data from a test vehicle. ControlTec data analysis turns that raw data into actionable data allowing automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to solve problems and make accurate quality decisions before the vehicles go into production. The Verizon Wireless network gives ControlTec the ability to capture real-time data and contributes to superior vehicle data management and analytics solutions.
