International Business Machines Corporation Research Reports
On September 3, 2014, International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) announced that its subsidiary Aspera has been selected by a global video streaming website Viki to provide high-speed file transfer solutions for all video uploads from Viki's content providers from over 100 countries. According to IBM, Aspera's solutions will enable Viki to quickly receive, subtitle and distribute premium video content to its diverse global user base. According to the Company, Aspera On Demand solution enables Viki to receive video from global content providers. Also, Aspera's patented FASP technology allows Viki to quickly, reliably and securely ingest these large video files - typically 40 to 50 GB per file - directly to the cloud. IBM added that Aspera On Demand helps Viki save as much as 50% of file upload times, which enables it to deliver new content within an hour after the original network broadcast. Verizon Communications Inc. Research Reports
On August 29, 2014, Verizon Communications Inc. (Verizon) announced that it will redeem the entire outstanding principal amount of its $750 million 1.25% Notes, due November 3, 2014 (the "Notes"). The Notes will be redeemed on September 29, 2014 (Redemption Date) at a price equal to the sum of the present values of the remaining scheduled payments of principal and interest on the Notes, discounted to the Redemption Date on a semi-annual basis at the Treasury rate plus 15 basis points, plus accrued and unpaid interest on the principal amount to the Redemption Date. ASML Holding NV Research Reports
On September 2, 2014, ASML Holding NV (ASML) announced that a second customer has successfully performed an EUV-endurance test, achieving wafer processing capability of around 600 wafers within 24 hours, on an NXE:3300B EUV system. The endurance test, designed to simulate a production run, beats the 500 wafer per day requirement that ASML customers have set for the end of the year. ASML President and CEO Peter Wennink told a webcast investor conference in New York that ASML is encouraged by the result of this second test. However, he added, EUV-performance needs to be repeated on multiple days and multiple systems which is the goal of the availability improvement programs that will be executed throughout the remainder of the year. Vodafone Group Plc Research Reports
On September 2, 2014, ADRs of Vodafone Group plc (Vodafone) ended the trading session at $34.32, down marginally from the previous day's close of $34.34. The stock opened the session at $34.05, and oscillated in the range of $33.96 - $34.59. While the Company's ADRs ended marginally lower during the session, its London Stock Exchange listed shares gained 1.06% to close at 208.90 pence. According to a Reuters report, Vodafone's stock turned higher late during the session with traders citing a Nikkei report suggesting that the Company may become a takeover target for Japanese telecom firm SoftBank Corp.
