PORTLAND, Maine, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Kepware Technologies, a software development company focused on communications for automation, announced today a significant restructuring of its most senior leadership. Longtime President and Chief Executive Officer, Tony Paine, promoted Brett Austin from Chief Financial Officer to President. Though relinquishing the responsibility and title of President, Paine will maintain his designation and strategic role as CEO. With this change, Paine aims to best address the long term requirements of the company's growing number of customers, partners, and employees.

"At Kepware, we are committed to ensuring that the scope of any individual's responsibilities remains aligned with the company's standard of excellence," said Tony Paine, CEO, Kepware. "After serving as President and CEO for the past four years, Kepware's ongoing growth and expansion requires that I take a step back from day to day operations to focus entirely on our long term vision and strategy. Brett is a natural fit to step in as President, as he has demonstrated stellar business acumen and an unwavering commitment to Kepware's standard of excellence since joining the company in 2008."
Kepware nearly tripled its revenue in the past four years, allowing the company to strategically reinvest in its team across all levels. In an effort to keep up with customer growth in the quickly evolving industrial automation communications industry, the company has also doubled its employee headcount within the same four years, and is continuing to aggressively pursue new top-tier talent.
The change in leadership responsibilities will allow Paine to focus his attention primarily on long term strategic goals, while Austin will concentrate on the company's daily business operations. Austin will oversee all Product Management and Technical Support teams, in addition to the Administrative, Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams that are currently under his direction.
"I am excited for and humbled by the opportunity to assume the role of President so that Tony can focus his time and energy on identifying, researching, and developing the leading technologies and products that set us apart in the industry," said Brett Austin, President, Kepware. "I am eager to continue leading the teams I've worked with for years, and to bring others under my direction so that we may unify on the shared goal of building the best company, partnerships, and infrastructure possible -- both today and in the future."
