Continental Who's Who recognizes Debbie M. Barrett-Bryson, RN, MSN-Ed, MHA, RNC-OB, CCE, CCM
GOODYEAR, Ariz., Feb. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Who's Who recognizes Debbie M. Barrett-Bryson, RN, MSN-Ed, MHA, RNC-OB, CCE, CCM, as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her work in the Healthcare Education and Nursing fields. Barrett-Bryson serves as a full-time Professor at the University of Phoenix as a member of the Nursing faculty.
"When I was promoted to the Regional Manager at UnitedHealth Group/Optum, I was over nine states and about 16 FTE. I was always proud of my team which was ranked at the top, regarding meeting their milestones set by the company" Barrett-Bryson stated. "After being promoted to full-time faculty, it has given me a sense of accomplishment to mentor my nursing students to achieve success," Barrett-Bryson said.
In addition to her work at the University of Phoenix, Barrett-Bryson has also served as a clinical Instructor in Nursing at Gateway Community college. She has been a part of the nursing field for over 25 years, and worked in a management for more than 15. Additionally, Barrett-Bryson takes great pride in mentoring those who are new to the nursing field.
Barrett-Bryson earned her Master's degree in Nursing Education as well as a second Master's degree in Health Administration, from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing with a focus in Women's Health from Franklin University. She also has a degree in Arts & Sciences from The Ohio State University and a degree in Applied Science from Central Ohio Technical College.
To further her professional development, Barrett-Bryson is a member of ANA, AWHONN, the International Women's Leadership Association, the National Council of State Board of Nursing and the National Association of Professional Women, which honored her as a part of the VIP Woman of the Year Circle. Barrett-Bryson also won Nurse of the Year in Education in Arizona. In recognition of her outstanding work, she was named to the Sigma TAU Nursing Honor Society. Barrett-Bryson states that her mentor Winifred Payne, helped lead the way in Administration and Leadership.
When not working, Barrett-Bryson volunteers her time to the March of Dimes, and serves as a committee member for Arizona Nurse of the Year. She is also a Member of the MIHS Refugee Coalition.
Barrett-Bryson dedicates this recognition to her husband, Thomas Bryson; her son, Dr. Tecumseh Bryson; her daughter, Brandi Bryson and her grandson, DeVonte.
