Continental Announces Tire Safety Recall of Approximately 3,800 tires in U.S.

FORT MILL, S.C., July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental today announced a voluntary recall program involving approximately 3,800 passenger vehicle tires. The tires involved in the recall are Continental ContiProContact P205/65 R15 95T XL, produced in February 2015 and sold in the replacement market only.
The tires may experience tread separation. The tires can be identified with the Department of Transportation (DOT) code VY UR 471B 0615. Only the production DOT week 0615 is affected. Continental has not received any reports of accidents or injuries resulting from this condition.
Continental notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the details of the recall on July 7, 2015. The company is in communication with its tire distributors and dealers to identify consumers who purchased affected tires. Owners will be promptly notified and informed about the details of the voluntary safety recall program.
