Contest Shines National Spotlight On Small Business Owners
Kick off to Entrepreneur magazine's Entrepreneur of 2013 presented by The UPS Store
SAN DIEGO, April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Small business owners wear many hats, and those looking to gain priceless company exposure should consider throwing one into the ring for a chance at being recognized as Entrepreneur magazine's Entrepreneur of 2013. Presented by The UPS Store, the contest recognizes entrepreneurs who are revolutionizing their industries, inspiring their employees and making a difference in their communities.
Past winners of the annual contest include Limor Fried of Adafruit Industries (2012), Jason Lucash of OrigAudio (2012), and Daniel Lubetzky, founder of KIND Healthy Snacks (2010).
"Being recognized as the Entrepreneur of 2012 kicked off a series of amazing milestones for our company," said Limor Fried of Adafruit Industries. Winning entrepreneurs will be chosen in three categories:
- Entrepreneur of 2013 - open to established business owners with no more than 130 employees and gross sales revenue of at least $3 million in 2012
- Emerging Entrepreneur – open to established business owners with no more than 12 employees, and at least $350,000 in gross sales revenue in 2012
- College Entrepreneur - for undergraduate or graduate students with promising business plans, between the ages of 18 and 25 during the time of submission
Among other prizes, winners will be profiled in the January 2014 issue of Entrepreneur magazine and will receive $500 in business services from The UPS Store. In addition, the College of Entrepreneur of 2013 will win $5,000 in business startup capital.
