The featured technology, listed as Lots 53 and 55 in the online auction catalog, can be viewed at www.icappatentbrokerage.com/forsale. Lot 53 discloses a content-based method to select and display online advertisements to users based on information provided by both the user and the search engine. The method enhances or substitutes for the conventional keyword based advertising approach produced by a search query. This technique not only utilizes the keywords used in the search, but the content from the search's website results as well. From these sources, it identifies topics that are associated with advertisers' advertisements and displays them to the user along with the search results for the query. This advanced, content-based process allows for more accurate targeted advertising than conventional methods. The Lot includes one US patent and five US applications.
Lot 55 discloses a wireless communications transceiver, such as a cellphone, for remote monitoring of an area. The transceiver includes circuits for enabling a monitor mode and detecting sensory data signals (e.g., voice, movement) originating from a monitored area. Further, a control menu is presented on a display of the transceiver that enables the user to select a predetermined threshold (e.g., amplitude of voice signal, movement) required for an alert to be triggered. The Lot includes two US patents and three US applications.
Dean Becker, ICAP Patent Brokerage and ICAP Ocean Tomo Auctions CEO, commented, "Our Fall 2011 Auction will be our biggest yet, featuring more than 140 lots. Technology, like that disclosed by this lot, represents some of the best innovation in the industry. We are very excited to be able to offer this to the worldwide market."
