Contemporary Services Corporation Continues Security Ambassador Program in Partnership with University of Southern California

NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC), the world's largest event security firm, recently began its second year providing services for the Security Ambassador Program in partnership with the University of Southern California (USC). CSC is working in conjunction with the USC Department of Public Safety and the Los Angeles Police Department to provide an additional layer of security in the housing community north of the main USC campus between 12 pm and 4 am, 7 days a week. The Ambassador Program has been in effect since 2009 with services recently resuming on August 16, one week before USC students returned for the fall semester. The Ambassador Program will continue through the academic year and has been very well received by students, parents, and those in the surrounding community.

"The enormous number of positive comments from students and parents were the major factors that contributed to the continuation of CSC's services with the Ambassador Program," said Carey Drayton, USC's Chief of Public Safety.  The Security Ambassador Program is a component of a larger strategy to reduce crime and improve the perception of campus and community safety.  CSC's strategic positioning and interaction with the Department of Public Safety and Los Angeles Police Department allows for a visual presence in the community, but equally important to the success of the program has been the real time information provided by the Security Ambassadors. Crime, specifically robbery, has been dramatically reduced in the area surrounding campus, and information provided by the Security Ambassadors has led to arrests of criminal suspects while other crimes have been deterred. Chief Drayton indicated that "...the Security Ambassador Program and, in particular, the professionalism of the Staff has been noted and praised throughout the university community." CSC has also expanded its scope of services on the USC campus to include security for all football practices as well as access control services at the newly reopened Traditions, USC's on-campus bar.  In addition, CSC also provides services for USC football games at the Los Angeles Coliseum and for men's and women's basketball games at the Galen Center.
