Consumers Energy Natural Gas Customers Saving Money Due to Warm Weather
JACKSON, Mich., Feb. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers Energy's natural gas customers continue to save money this winter.
The utility's average residential natural gas customer in February is paying a bill about 20 percent less compared to last year due to warmer-than-average temperatures and lower gas costs.
An average residential gas customer will pay a bill of about $146 this month, for usage during January. Typically an average residential gas customer would pay a bill of about $184 this time of year. During January, an average residential gas customer saved about $28 on their monthly bill.
Consumers Energy provides natural gas service to 1.7 million customers in 45 counties in Michigan's Lower Peninsula.
Consumers Energy recommends that customers save additional money by making their homes more energy efficient. Information on incentives and rebates for gas and electric customers through the utility's energy efficiency programs is available at www.consumersenergy.com
