Consumers Energy Conducting Information Session For Customers Interested In Solar Energy; Applications for Program Open On August 29
KALAMAZOO, Mich., Aug. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning on August 29 residential and business electric customers served by Consumers Energy can submit applications to participate in the utility's Experimental Advanced Renewable Program (EARP).
In addition, Consumers Energy will be conducting an information session on September 6 in Kalamazoo for electric customers interested in learning about customer-installed solar energy systems. The session will be held at the Fetzer Center on Western Michigan University's main campus. The session is free of charge, open to the public and will take place from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM. Speakers during the session will provide information on how customers can install their own solar energy systems as part of Consumers Energy's Experimental Advanced Renewable Program (EARP). Consumers Energy's program currently has contracts in place to purchase renewable energy from 163 customer-owned solar generators as part of the utility's renewable energy plan. During a July 18 selection event, 20 residential customer solar projects from 14 Lower Peninsula counties received authorization to proceed as part of Consumers Energy's program.
