Consumers Energy and Union Leadership Announce New Working Agreement
JACKSON, Mich., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Consumers Energy and the Executive Board of the Michigan State Utility Workers Council, Utility Workers Union of America (AFL-CIO), announced today that a new working agreement has been ratified by union membership, covering the utility's nearly 3,000 Operating, Maintenance and Construction employees.
The new agreement is for five years, replacing a previous agreement which was scheduled to expire June 1, 2010.
Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy, provides natural gas and electricity to nearly 6.5 million of Michigan's 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
