Consumer Wellness Center Labs announces accredited heavy metals testing for food and dietary supplements; awarded ISO 17025 international accreditation
TUCSON, Ariz., June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumer Wellness Center Labs, the analytical science laboratory affiliated with the non-profit Consumer Wellness Center, has just announced the public availability of its internationally accredited heavy metals testing services for food, dietary supplements and environmental samples.
CWC Labs (www.CWClabs.com) specializes in food, beverage and dietary supplement testing and was recently awarded international accreditation under ISO 17025 standards. Its heavy metals testing services are achieved using ICP-MS instrumentation that's capable of sub-ppb (parts per billion) sensitivity for most elements.
CWC Labs services are offered for heavy metals testing (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, copper, nickel) as well as for nutritive minerals (zinc, magnesium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, etc.). The lab also offers testing of elements that have radioactive isotopes, such as cesium, uranium and strontium.
What's so unusual about the lab is that its founder, Mike Adams, is an award-winning investigative journalist and clean food advocate who made the leap to food scientist after investigating the extent of heavy metals pollution in the food and dietary supplements industry. His first book, titled "Food Forensics," is being released on July 26th and reveals heavy metals analysis results for over 800 foods, dietary supplements spices and pet treats. Now, Adams is opening his lab to commercial customers to help food and supplement companies source cleaner, safer raw materials for manufacturing. "We help companies develop cleaner products for consumers," Adams explains. "As today's consumers are demanding cleaner labels and increased transparency, CWC Labs provides authoritative metals and minerals analysis to help manufacturers improve their product safety, regulatory compliance and consumer confidence."
