BorgWarner Inc. Analyst Notes
On April 1, 2014, BorgWarner Inc. (BorgWarner) announced that it has completed the acquisition of Gustav Wahler GmbH & Co. KG (Wahler), which expands BorgWarner's product leadership in exhaust gas recirculation technologies. According to the Company, the acquisition was completed on March 1, 2014, after BorgWarner's announced the acquisition of all shares in Wahler on December 20, 2013. The Company also informed that Wahler will join the BorgWarner Emissions Systems business, while BorgWarner will maintain the Wahler name as a product brand in the aftermarket. James R. On April 1, 2014, Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) announced the acquisition of Kolpin Outdoors, Inc. (Kolpin), a leading aftermarket accessory brand that develops purpose-built and universal-fit Off-Road Vehicles (ORV) accessories and outdoor lifestyle products. In addition, Polaris will add Kolpin to its growing parts, garments and accessories (PG&A) business. Polaris said that Kolpin products will continue to be sold under the Kolpin and Cycle Country brands, including customized private label products available under its Premier O.E.M. business. The Company intends to apply its product innovation and engineering expertise to Kolpin, aiming to improve the existing dealer and consumer relationships in order to further develop and extend the exposure of Kolpin's established brand.
