CONSUMER ALERT: Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, LLC Notifies Consumers of Investigation Against Nissan Motor Company Ltd. (Nissan)
NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorney Advertising -- Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, LLC notifies consumers of an investigation against Nissan Motor Company Ltd.'s ("Nissan") recall of 134,000 vehicles in the United States and Canada due to potential braking system defects that may cause fires.
On September 12, 2016 Nissan North America and U.S. regulators issued the recall of Nissan cars and crossovers from model years 2015 – 2017, that are affected by defective anti-lock braking system that can allow brake fluid to leak into the circuit boards, causing electrical shorts. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warns owners that when brake fluid has leaked onto the circuit board, the ABS warning lamp may remain illuminated for more than 10 seconds after engine start up. "If this occurs, owners are advised to park the vehicles outdoors away from other vehicles or structures and to not drive the vehicle," the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in its recall notice. Steve Yaeger, a spokesman for Nissan North America, said there had been several fires, including one that damaged a driver's home.
Affected U.S. vehicles include:
- 2016-2017 Maxima sedans
- 2015-2017 Murano crossovers
- 2015-2016 Murano hybrids
Only models equipped with Intelligent Cruise Control (adaptive cruise) are affected by this recall.
