WHAT: The Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Intermodal Parking Facilities and Enhancements Design-Build Project. It is expected that the design-build project will be handled by a single proposer and involve the design and construction of multiple 200+ space parking structures, surface parking lots, fencing, traffic signals, concrete bus pads, bus shelters, benches, bike racks and lockers, retaining walls, sidewalks and ramps, curb ramps, enhanced crosswalks, landscaping, trees and tree wells, irrigations, pedestrian street lights, roadway improvements and other related work at and around the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa light rail extension's six stations.
The Authority is hosting a pre-submittal conference for firms interested in responding to the RFQ on Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.

About the Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa
The Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension is a $1.4 billion project, partially funded by Los Angeles County's Measure R. The light rail extension is being overseen by the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority and is currently undergoing final design and construction for the Pasadena to Azusa segment and environmental review for the Azusa to Montclair segment. Construction of the 11.5-mile light rail extension to Azusa is on schedule to be completed in 2015, adding six new stations in the cities of Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale and Azusa. All six stations will have parking facilities. This procurement is the last of three needed to complete the Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa.
