Connectyx Enters 18 Billion Dollar Global Telemedicine Market Through New Concierge Service With FONEMED(R)
PALM CITY, Fla., April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Connectyx Technologies Holdings Group, Inc. (OTCPK: CTYX) is pleased to announce that the Company has signed a joint marketing agreement with FONEMED® to provide MedFlash® members with its new concierge service which includes round-the-clock, telephone or web-based access to medical advice, information, products, and services. According to the agreement, Connectyx will be able to offer its MedFlash members Nurse triage services and assistance in the creating Medical Profiles through FONEMED® for as little as $49.95 per year.
Driven by an aging population, increased medical requirements in remote locations and technology advancements, the world market for telemedicine is projected to exceed $18 billion by the year 2015, according to new report by Global Industry, Inc. (www.newsguide.us). Telemedicine programs have proved cost effective, and with restrictions on health care expenditures being a major concern, such programs are being increasingly implemented in countries across the globe.
FONEMED (www.fonemed.com) CEO Ken Bleakley noted that the interaction of qualified Registered Nurses and Doctors with cutting edge technology in the hands of individuals over the telephone and Internet represents the new frontier in health care. "The combination improves access to health information and care wherever and whenever needed and reduces costs for all."
According to The American Medical Association as many as 70% of all doctor visits are for information only or for matters that can be handled over the phone. The cost of health insurance for a family of four is over $1,200 per month. Consumers in this country are looking for affordable, convenient, and time effective ways to consult with a health professional and get maintenance medications. In addition, research indicates that the loss of wages, time and productivity from unnecessary Emergency Room (ER) and doctor visits for non-emergencies and simple prescription refills is costing this country hundreds of billions. In total, as much as $300 billion of health care costs are unnecessary, inappropriate and/or wasteful. This results in higher insurance costs for groups and individuals.
"We can now offer our customers round-the-clock nurse triage and assistance in developing their MedFlash Medical Profiles We are pleased to help improve the quality of health care for our customers by offering them this additional valuable service, which can not only save them money, but give them peace of mind," stated Ronn Schumann, CEO Connectyx.
The Company has recently announced it has signed a joint marketing agreement with Consult A Doctor to provide MedFlash® Personal Health Manager (PHM) to the more than 36 million Americans who are currently being treated via Telemedicine. According to the agreement, Connectyx will be able to offer its MedFlash members Telehealth services through Consult A Doctor as part of its extended member benefits programs. Market analyst Datamonitor predicts that the overall global telehealth market is expected to exceed $8 billion by 2012.
