ConnectivityWeek Provides 360-Degree Smart Grid View
ConnectivityWeek Conference brings together 200 speakers representing Smart Grid, and beyond the grid
DALLAS, April 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ConnectivityWeek, taking place May 23-26 in Santa Clara, Calif., is the only conference focused exclusively on the complete Smart Grid picture. Organized by Smart Grid stakeholders, ConnectivityWeek provides attendees with the opportunity to explore the value propositions, business models, and critical technological developments, both on the grid and beyond the grid.
"The link between the electric grid and energy-consuming segments is becoming increasingly blurred, especially as demand response (DR) and Smart Grid come into play," said Anto Budiardjo, President, Clasma Events. "At ConnectivityWeek, we bring together all the key players -- from both sides of the meter -- to explore the benefits of implementing Smart Grid technologies both on the grid and beyond the grid."
"On the Grid": Organized in partnership with the GridWise Architecture Council, ConnectivityWeek's GridWise Expo track will explore grid-focused issues and opportunities. Kicking off with Smart Grid Bootcamp, more than 40 industry-leading speakers will explore the reliability, economic, and environmental benefits of Smart Grid; the role of IT in Smart Grid; and standards development and progress, which will be covered by leaders of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel.
Creating a link between the utility side and consumer side of the Smart Grid conversation is ConnectivityWeek's DR-Expo, which will explore the value of smart rates, how to create a demand response (DR) business, and key technology directions, including OpenADR.
"Beyond the Grid": In four main tracks focused on major energy consuming segments -- HomeConn, BuilConn, InfraConn, and IndConn -- ConnectivityWeek explores key opportunities for implementing Smart Grid technologies, and realizing Smart Grid benefits, beyond the grid.
ConnectivityWeek 2011 is host to 200+ industry-leading speakers, who participate in more than 100 sessions, which are attended by 1,000+ participants, representing: utilities, regulators, policymakers, energy consumers, IT, telecom, venture capital, and media.
