Congressman Lee Terry (R-NE) to Join Kelley Drye & Warren LLP Government Relations Practice
Eight-term congressman played important roles in manufacturing, telecommunications and energy policy
WASHINGTON, Jan. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Kelley Drye & Warren LLP announced today that Nebraska Republican Congressman Lee Terry will join the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a Senior Advisor in the Government Relations and Public Policy practice group. Throughout his career in public service, Congressman Terry helped shape federal policy in the energy, telecommunications and manufacturing industries and championed the causes of business and commerce.
The eight-term Congressman spent most of his tenure on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he served on the Telecommunications, Energy, Oversight, and Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittees. During that time, he was a leader on energy issues pertaining to motor fuels, corporate average fuel economy, renewable fuels standard, pipeline infrastructure, and liquefied natural gas; he lead efforts to increase data privacy and data security; and authored several pieces of telecommunications legislation. In the 113th Congress, Congressman Terry chaired the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade, where he developed the "Nation of Builder's" theme, helping to highlight American manufacturing in the areas of steel, automobiles, and homebuilding.
Prior to his 16 years in Congress, Congressman Terry served on the Omaha City Council, including as its President from 1995 to 1996.
