NEW YORK, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Youth, I.N.C. (Improving Nonprofits for Children) announced today that it will host a youth book signing event with Civil Rights Movement leader and Congressman John Lewis.
Congressman Lewis will speak to 200+ students about his #1 New York Times and Washington Post bestseller March series, his life as a key figure in the Civil Rights Movement, and the power of young people to change the world through nonviolence. Joining Rep. Lewis will be his co-author Andrew Aydin, who is also the congressman's digital director and policy adviser, as well as Nate Powell, the book's graphic artist.
Regarding Rep. Lewis's graphic novel, President Bill Clinton said, "Congressman John Lewis has been a resounding moral voice in the quest for equality for more than 50 years, and I'm so pleased that he is sharing his memories of the Civil Rights Movement with America's young leaders. In March, he brings a whole new generation with him across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, from a past of clenched fists into a future of outstretched hands."
Each student in attendance will receive a free copy of Congressman Lewis's new book March and have an opportunity to get it signed by Rep. Lewis and his co-authors. This event will be on April 8th in Downtown Brooklyn and is open to New York City students and youth groups during April school vacation week. Full location details will be provided when you RSVP.
Please RSVP via email to [email protected]. Space is limited.
