Congressman Johnson spoke with over two dozen employees and executives, including Deeks & Company, Inc. president, Donna Boldt and vice president, James Boldt as well as Stone Mountain Mayor Patricia Wheeler, and Lilburn Mayor Johnny Crist. Ms. Boldt discussed the company's role in providing vital products to industries and its contributions to the regional and national economies with the Congressman as an employer in Mr. Johnson's Fourth Congressional District of Georgia. Mr. Johnson acknowledged Deeks & Company's 67 year history of growth, and discussed safety measures undertaken by Deeks & Company through Responsible Distribution.
Responsible Distribution is NACD's mandatory environmental, health, safety and security program that has resulted in NACD members being 80% safer than non-NACD members in the chemical distribution industry. Deeks & Company is a member in good standing of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD).
"It was an honor to host our local and federal elected officials at Deeks & Company today," said company president Donna Boldt. "Our policy makers should have the opportunity to see our business firsthand and understand the difference in chemical producers and distributors. Certain regulations and policies really affect our business, and more importantly, affect our people. We hope to grow and hire, and we need a business friendly environment to do that."
Deeks & Company, Inc. is a third generation, family-owned chemical and container distributor that has been the Southeast's leading supplier of raw materials and containers to the paint, coatings, plastics and ink industries, since 1945. In 2011, Donna Boldt and Jim Boldt each received the Distributor of the Year Award from NACD.
NACD and its over 400 member companies are vital to the chemical supply chain, providing products to over 750,000 end users. They make a delivery every six seconds while maintaining a safety record that is more than twice as good as all manufacturing combined. NACD members are leaders in health, safety, security, and environmental performance through implementation of Responsible Distribution, established in 1991 as a condition of membership and a third-party verified management practice.
