Congressman Fattah Statement On May Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, issues the following statement on today's monthly jobs report that the economy added 69,000 jobs in May:
"Today's jobs report shows that there is more work to do to improve our economy which is growing but not growing fast enough. We've seen 27 months of consecutive job growth in the private sector. We can do better, we must do better but this work can't be done by the Democrats alone. Republicans must join our efforts and support the President's jobs bill so we can do what the American people elected us to do and help get them back to work. The only people finding comfort in today's jobs report are the Republicans who continue to block all efforts to get this economy moving again."
