Congressman Fattah Lauds April Jobs Report

WASHINGTON, May 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-02), a Senior Member on the House Appropriations Committee and lead Democrat on the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and related agencies, issued the following statement on the April 2015 jobs numbers released today:

"The April jobs report shows that with 223,000 jobs added, our economy continues to grow. Last month marks the 62^nd consecutive month of job growth. Unemployment, now at 5.4 percent, is the lowest it's been since May 2008.              

"Today's jobs report shows signs of encouragement for both employers and potential employees. Employers say they are looking to hire as they have some 5.1 million jobs currently available. This is good news for the thousands of students graduating from college over the next few weeks. I'm encouraged that as our economy continues to improve so will the professional opportunity for America's next generation of leaders."
