Congressman Fattah Lauds April Job Numbers

Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA) Member House Appropriations Committee releases the following statement on April's job numbers.

WASHINGTON, May 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "April's job numbers give Americans reason to be hopeful.  The numbers show the fastest increase since 2006, with a net gain of 244,000.  The private sector added 268,000 jobs, marking the 16^th month of consecutive growth.

"The numbers are a clear sign that under President Obama's leadership, the economy is gradually getting stronger.  With more people looking for jobs as the economy shows signs of improvement, the unemployment rate inched up two tenths of a percent and that means there's still much to be done to ensure everyone who wants a job has a job.
