Congressman Fattah Announces $822,136 in Humanities Grants to Three Philadelphia Institutions
WASHINGTON, July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-02), a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, announced today that three organizations in his Philadelphia-area district have received new grant awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). In total, $822,136 was awarded to support new exhibitions and the conservation and preservation of current museum holdings.
The competitive grants were awarded to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts ($250,000), the Philadelphia Museum of Art ($400,000), and La Salle University ($172,136). Around the country, NEH announced $36.6 million in grants for 212 humanities projects in 42 states and the District of Columbia.

The National Endowment for the Humanities supports research and education in history, literature, philosophy, and other areas of the humanities by awarding competitive grants to related programs and institutions across the United States.
